    methodology (needs to be state-of-the-art)
  • Writing the perfect studybut its not feasible!

HOW NOT TO GET YOUR GRANT FUNDED
  • Weak or incomplete statistical analysis
  • --get statistician involved early not late
  • --always have a sample size analysis
  • Vague, poorly outlined or outrageous budget
  • Asking your mentor to review your grant the day
    or two before the submission deadline
  • Poorly written or vague letters from chief or
    mentor
  • Procrastination and preparing your grant at the
    last minute
  • Not submitting a grant!
