Astronaut Training

• For our astronaut training we have been doing
  different kinds of experiments.
• We are doing astronaut training in the gym as
  well.
• Our team had to decide on a name and we picked
  Dynamic 9.
• We made huge posters with Mars facts on them.
• We made a tower made out of clay and popsicle
  sticks, we had to make it both high and strong.

Astronaut Training 2

• We then started to make our patch.
• Everyone made one then we took ideas from each
  one and made it all into one patch.
• We had to make up a resume for ourselves and a
  page that told what we were good at and stuff.
• We then voted for a patch on the internet.

Astronaut Training 3

• Then we had to pick a life support system to do
  and we picked Health and Recreation.
• Right now we are working on building our life
  support systems.

Science Challenge

• Our science challenge was to build a tower that
  was both tall and strong.
• We started by thinking of the best way to build
  it.
• We made it in a square shape with supports on
  every side.
• We decided to use only clay and popsicle sticks
  because they were the strongest.

Science Challenge 2

• We also made supports coming out the bottom so it
  could hold more weight.
• We had to try and use the least amount of
  materials, the was pretty hard.
• It was really bending to one side because the
  clay kept on breaking.
• When we had finished it was pretty tall but
  didnt hold that much weight.

Link-up Day

• Link-up Day was alot of fun.
• When we got there we had to weigh our lunches to
  make sure they were the right weight.
• Then we watched a mini movie of us going to
  Mars.
• We then met our other teammates.

Link-up Day 2

• We had to start to put up our habitats, by taping
  our plastic together, it was pretty hard.
• Then we had to cut a hole in the plastic so we
  could get in.
• Then we got to go inside and eat our lunches.
• We had to weigh all of our garbage after.

Link-up Day 3

• Then a few people got interveiwed by some
  newspaper reporter, I was one of them!!
• We then had to do our life support system
  presentations.
• Then we got to go around and see other groups
  life support systems.
• Then we had to go back to our habitat.

• We then had on emergency task we had to complete.
  
• It was pretty hard but our group did it.
• Then we had to take down our habitats because it
  was time to leave.
• I had a lot of fun on Link-up Day!!!!
