Title: 9th Grade
19th Grade
Tournament
2The Day
It was a gorgeous fine, wet, windy day when
Manurewa hosted the 9th Grade Tournament on the
14-June-09. Manurewa put on a great tournament.
I heard this comment many times throughout the
day. Parents seemed overly impressed with the day
if not the weather. Inspite of the weather, the
teams played on and on, never failing and
constantly coming back each time.
We started with 16 teams and ended with 2. Two
teams who fought well and hard throughout the day
3Four teams went into extra time. Of those
Glenfield had extra time Twice. One of those went
to a penalty Shoot Out ! ! !

13The Final
The Final came down to Papakura Rangers vs Albany
Allstars. Albany putting the Manurewa Golds out
in the semis to a 2 nil win and dashing the local
club chances of winning the day. The final was
a display of youthful talent especially after a
long day on the fields. Both teams put their
heart and soul into the final match with Papakura
finally claiming victory to a 2 nil match.
14The Awards

the winning trophy to the teams.
