Our Own Experience of RTA
  • Benefits include a sense of ownership over the
    constructed knowledge, active learning, and
    simply enjoying oneself in school.

1) Brainstorm/Develop a Theme
  • Students brainstorm around a given theme or
    choose their own theme.
  • This brainstorming activity serves as a basis for
    the development of the story.
  • Students can use Inspiration.

2) Discuss/Decide on a Story Idea
  • The main events of the story are agreed upon.
  • Team work is important here.
  • Children need to learn to listen to each others
    ideas.

3) Research
  • Students will research their theme to include
    factual information in their scripts.
  • Use of online resources.

  • Use of word processors.
  • Peer-editing.

Concluding Thoughts
