Peer Teams Fabulous Facts

• Founded in 1996 as a Quality Service initiative.
• We have had seven teams with thirty-nine members.
• Its a successful program whose number of
  nominations grow each year.
• We have data on this program including each
  teams annual report, surveys, and improvements
  made based on survey results.
• The Leadership Team has an ongoing commitment to
  continue this program by linking it to our build
  a positive work environment Balanced Scorecard
  objective.

Peer Teams Amazing Accomplishments

• 1996/97 ERT
• Formed the first peer recognition team.
• Determined the type of awards based on a division
  survey.
• Established tradition of awarding employees at
  the Spring Fling and Holiday parties.
• Developed nomination criteria, nomination form,
  and placed them on the web.
• Had a kick-off event and awarded all employees
  with a We raised the roof at CSUSM mug.
• Implemented division blue jean Friday, which
  the campus eventually adopted.

• 1997/98 PRIT Team
• Solicited and received donations for prizes from
  businesses.
• Sent copies of nomination forms to personnel
  files.
• Recommended a specific selection process for
  nominees (such as removing identities).
• 1998/99 PEER Team
• Made Shining Stars poster, publicizing names of
  nominees.
• Created a perpetual plaque with names of top two
  awardees.
• Placed a letter of congratulations from the EVP
  in personnel files.
• Added the option to phone in nominations.

• 1999/00 Y2K Peer Team
• Added a list of division employees to help
  identify employees within the division.
• Eliminated self-nominations as a result of a
  division survey.
• Recommended Team Recognition awards.
• Added Peer Team member application form to the
  web page.
• 2000/01 Peer Team V
• Gave a presentation to CABO (Chief
  Administrators/Business Officers), to describe
  the success of our program
• Had scripted Survivor and baseball awards themes
• Read entire nomination for top two awardees at
  recognition events.
• Recommended that team members be volunteers, not
  nominated.

• 2001/02 Peer Team USA
• Changed from bi-annual to one annual awards
  presentation.
• Planned the FAS division holiday reception which
  included a Directors Bake-Off and donations of
  food, toys and clothing to Camp Pendleton.
• Created the multi-media We are Family video and
  presented it at the Spring Fling.
• 2002/03 Peer Team ROAR
• Incorporated a movie theme into their awards
  presentation.
• Had a pizza party for all nominees
