Objectives

• Language skills
• Become aware of American culture and holidays.
• Gain a deeper understanding of the history and
  meaning of thanksgiving.
• Improve their reading, writing and vocabulary
  skills.

• Using the Microsoft word to type their homework.
• Using blackboard to communicate with teacher and
  students.
• Using blackboard to better their writing skills.
• Searching for more information about the class
  topic in the internet.
• Using quizzes on websites to test their knowledge.

Pre-Computer Activities

• Enable students to have access to the computer
  lab anytime.(Inside/outside class hours)
• Provide a person who is sensitive to the language
  and computers in the class and lab.
• Find relevant and good websites for
  students(quizzes, documents, information)
• Test all the websites before introducing them.
• Make sure that the course material is posted on
  Blackboard.

• Make sure your website is working properly and
  the websites are available to students.
• Make sure that you know every aspect of the
  blackboard.
• Provide handouts with commands and steps that
  would help students use the computers.
• Show them how to use the computer step by step
  and be available.

Presentation

• Provide the students with handouts of the history
  of thanksgiving.
• Make them use http//www.wilstar.com/holidays/Tha
  nksgiving for more reading.
• Make them print the information they found in the
  website.
• Ask them to work in groups of two and discuss the
  found information in the website.
• Make open discussion about the topic.

Practice

• Present the students with website of the history
  of Thanksgiving on the board using computer.

• Ask them to work in groups of three and discuss
  the websites information.
• Assign each student a job(secretary,discussion)

• Ask students to write their reflections on what
  they have seen and read from the website, on
  Blackboard.(discussion board)
• Help students who are having difficulty using the
  Blackboard.
• Ask them to reflect on their classmates
  reflections and provide their opinion once they
  finish their personal reflections.
• This activity will help students
  better their writing skills.

Evaluation

• Students will be asked to use the

• The students will be asked to print every quizzes
  they do and bring it to class.
• The teacher will use checklist to evaluate
  students participation on blackboard and their
  reflection papers.
