order of doing things we call this the ORDER OF

Left-to-Right Rule
In order of operations both Multiplication and
Divisions as well as Addition and Subtraction are
done in the order they appear in the problem
left to right

Evaluate if x 4

Inserting Grouping Symbols
Inserting grouping symbols can change the whole
value of a problem for example 3 42 8 4
has a value of 50 but if I put in some grouping
symbols like this 3 (42 8) 4 what is
the new value?

Another way to group is to use a fraction bar.
For example
