LESSONS LEARNED
PHASE I
9CFBLNet
- Combined RDTE Network
- Connects allied research labs
- Available year round for experimentation
- Voluntary participation
- Initial membership limited to JWID participants
- JWID coalition security process
- Familiarization with CWAN environment
- Individual cost based on usage
- Leverages network assets established for JWID
- Customers pay to use the network
10Building CFBLNet
- JWID99 (R)
- Creates CWAN environment in July
- Builds combined security interim approval to
operate - Desired 90 day approval instead of JWID duration
- Provides time to build security accreditation for
CFBLNet - Continues C2 systems interoperability trials
- CFBLNet
- Combined management structure to be formed

14Conclusions
- CFBLNet provides a way ahead for combined C4I
experimentation beyond JWID - Builds upon the considerable experience gained
during the JWID series - Available for year round experimentation this
year - Voluntary, with customers paying for network use
- Can serve as a bridge to the activation of the
NCWAN
