  • HSNO will be an integral consideration of all OSH
    Field Officers when involved in enforcement
    and/or compliance activities

    substance
  • i.e. all properties are inclusive explosives,
    flammables, toxics, oxidisers, corrosives,
    ecotoxics

    Technical Specialists across all HSNO Properties

    controls are breached and general enforcement
    under HSE Act is inappropriate

    organisms via systems under HSE Act
  • Specific HSNO issues will be passed to MAF
    (Bio-security)

What are the HSNO Penalties?
  • Failing to apply controls
  • 500,000
  • 50,000 per day - continuing offence
  • Mitigate or remedy adverse effects
  • Imprisonment for up to 3 months
  • Failing to comply with a compliance notice
