25OPTA feedback
Beno Blachut, president of the Society of Czech
Opticians and Optometrists OPTA is evolving in
terms of area, as well as in terms of quality,
which pleases us opticians, optometrists,
ophthalmologists, and all our clients. I would
like to thank all exhibitors for perseverance,
offering of new products and helping us broaden
new horizons of optics. Optics evolves really
fast, new technologies and materials enable us to
provide services with greater quality and
accuracy. Brno is a good place for eye optics.
Training of opticians has been taking place for
over 40 years, so there were several generations
of opticians brought up here. At the same time,
optometry has been taught here for a long time,
nowadays at universities. The service provided by
Trade Fairs Brno, who are hosting our fair for
the 14th year, is of such a good quality that it
provides the best conditions for our successful
co-operation on the organisation of OPTA. Slovak
Optical Union, Peter Urbánek, president This
year of OPTA was fully successful for us. For us,
the gauge of success is the participation of
Slovak, which was historically at its highest
this year. For the future we are expecting an
increasing trend based on positive feedback of
our members. It is pleasing that more
representatives came to the fair even from small
optical shops. We are glad that the
representatives of the Union are the members of
the jury that awards prizes in the TOP OPTA
competition. Dr. Feike Grit, president of
ECOO I would like to thank for perfect
co-operation to Trade Fairs Brno, Society of
Czech Opticians and Optometrists, and The
European Council of Optometry and Optics. All
ECOO representatives to whom I spoke were
astonished by the excellent conditions offered by
Brno Exhibition Centre. The organisation of the
meetings, receptions, and other social events was
perfect, and the atmosphere was great. I do
believe that this European Optometrical Meeting
was the first in a long tradition of other ECOO
meetings held in Brno.
