As our population ages the incidence and
prevalence of chronic diseases will increase.

POLYPHARMACY AND THE OLDER PERSON
  • NSF for the Older Person highlights that 4 in 5
    persons over the age of 75 take one or more
    medicines with 36 per cent taking four or more

On average the elderly receive 3.4 drugs per
patient
