11Ban Harmful Chemicals in Toys
California Focus Ban Harmful Chemicals in
ToysToys often contain harmful chemicals. In
California, AB 319 will be voted on this month.
If passed, the bill would prohibit the
manufacture, sale or distribution of any toy or
childcare article for children ages three or
younger that contains bisphenol-A, which can
increase the risk of breast cancer. The bill
would also ban products containing phthalates
that can be placed in a childs mouth phthalates
have also been linked to increased breast cancer
risk.
