19- A biomass boiler uses waste material or
renewable sources e.g. refuse, wood, crops etc to
generate useful heat - Recommendation for a 100 kW heat-only system to
be developed to meet the year round base load for
the entire site - Any of three options for Biomass fuel are
viable, namely - Short Rotation Coppice (SRC)
- Miscanthus
- Woodfuel
- Woodchip fuel source from off-cuts from the
forestry commission - 100kW biomass boiler 0.35GWh of carbon free
energy per year for the John Wheatley College
