4History of the TMIT
1949 independent Faculty of Electrical
Engineering was established consisting
of, inter alia Department of
Wirebound Communications, headed by Professor
Dr. L. Kozma 1971 Merger of Departments of
Wirebound and Wireless Communications into
Institute of Communication Electronics, headed
by Professor Dr. S. Csibi 1991 The Institute
was split into two departments Dept. of
Telecommunications and Telematics was
established, headed by Professor Dr. G. Gordos
2003 Renaming DTT to Dept. of Telecommunications
and Media Informatics (TMIT)
