Title: NCSSS A Tradition of Innovation

1
NCSSSA Tradition of Innovation
  • Since its founding in 1918 as an independent
graduate school of social work for women, the
National Catholic School of Social Service has
supported traditional social work values while
    creating innovative programs and field
    experiences.

2
Highly Ranked Nationally
  • These foundations are among the reasons the
school, featuring BA, MSW, and PHD programs, is
ranked in the top 11 percent of graduate social
work programs by the Gourman Report. NCSSS is
the only program in the D.C. area placed in the
    top 20 nationwide.

3
A Global Presence
  • NCSSS is fully accredited by the Council on
Social Work Education. Our more than 4,500 alumni
work throughout the world in many fields,
    including child welfare, gerontology, family
preservation, health and mental health, social
policy, social justice, and social work
    education.

Learning to See People in Their Complexity
  • In keeping with the social teachings and
values of the Roman Catholic Church, NCSSS
embraces as its special responsibility the
education of social workers who promote the
dignity of all people as bio-psycho-social-spiritu
al beings, and who serve the community -
    Catholic, neighboring, and beyond.
