COMSOFT AFTN/AMHS Products AIDA-NG and CADAS
Chennai, 17.12.2008 Uwe Kurpat, AFTN/AMHS
Product Manager
2
AIDA-NG/CADAS Products
  • AIDA-NG
  • COMSOFT's Advanced Message Handling Product
  • CADAS
  • ATS Client/Server System with integrated AMHS UA

AIDA-NG and CADAS are most mature AMHS products,
which are in operation in almost all ICAO Regions
3

7
AIDA-NG Redundant Databases
8
AIDA-NG - What we avoid Shared Storage Devices
Server Cluster
single point of failure
Single Database Volume
shared RAID Storage Device
  • Conventional Cluster Solutions typically use
    "shared" components, e.g. Application Software,
    Data Volumes, and Storage Devices.

9
AIDA-NG - What we avoid Database Replication
Standby Server
Operational Server
Database Operation
Database Replication
Corrupted Database Volume
Corrupted Database Volume
single point of failure
  • A single database volume is in operation, which
is replicated to the standby server
  • Corrupted Volume is replicated ? Outage of the
    system ? Loss of service

10
AIDA-NG Serial Interfaces - RCC Group
  • SNL-A, SNL-B
  • intelligent communications controller with two
    serial V.24/V.11 interfaces

The Goal Satisfied Customers
  • Peter,
  • See note from Kevin confirming that the
transition onto AMS-UK is now complete. I like
to add my thanks to everyone at Comsoft for your
support in achieving this important milestone.
  • The whole transition has gone very smoothly and
the delay in transitioning the last Xx
connections was due to a problem with the Xx
    system and NOT AMS-UK.
  • Could you please forward this on to all
    interested parties at Comsoft.
  • Regards,
  • Malcolm.
  • Gents,
  • I believe all of you are aware that following an
extremely successful transition of almost all of
the users by the 1st week in September, we were
stuck with problems with Xx connections.
Following another set of testing, we have
subsequently been able to transition them to
AMS-UK today and I can thus declare that the user
transition is complete. Although this is a week
later than I had planned, in comparison to
previous transitions of this magnitude, I cannot
emphasise enough how well this has gone and would
not have been achieved without a magnificent team
effort and I take my hat off to them.
  • Regards, Kevin
