Itadakimasu
  • Gohan rice food/meal
  • Chopsticksetiquette, who knew?
  • Never leave the chopsticks stuck into the rice
bowl or use them to pass food from one person to
another as this is reminiscent of funerals where
incense is stuck into bowls of rice and the
burned bones of the dead are passed from person
    to person among the family.

Traditional foods
  • The traditional Japanese breakfast is a bowl of
rice, a bowl of Miso soup and some side dish.
Miso soup is made by dissolving fermented soybean
paste in fish or seaweed stock. Tofu is one
common ingredient, but Miso soup can have many
other different kinds of ingredients in it. In
modern Japan , many people also eat Western-style
    breakfast including toast and coffee.
