  • Content Traditionally the propulsive properties
    are examined in the open-water and
    self-propulsion tests. In this project the same
    must be examined by CFD by using a relevant
    Navier-Stokes equations solver. The results must
    be compared with results of model tests. The
    examination must include
  • wake fraction, i.e. nominal and effective wake,
    wake scaling (if possible) and dependence of
    propeller loading and load distribution.
  • thrust deduction fraction in model and full
    scale and its dependence on propeller load
    distribution
  • relative rotative efficiency (if possible) and
    its dependence on propeller geometry and
    loading.
