Graduation Requirements
  • Complete General University Requirements (GURs)
  • Complete an academic major
  • Complete 60 upper division credits
  • Satisfy writing proficiency requirement
  • Satisfy grade point average requirement (2.0 or
    higher, as required by individual depts.)
  • Complete 180 credits

  • Requirements to declare a major vary between
    academic departments
  • Some majors require more than 180 credits to
    complete (majors range from 55 110 credits)
  • At least 50 of required credits for major must
    be completed at Western
  • Classes completed within the major must be passed
    with a C- or better (C for professional education
    and endorsement courses)
