Significant Points in the Budget Cycle
  • July 1 - First day of the state fiscal year
  • October 1 - Statutory date Agency budgets are due
    to Division of Budget
  • Mid January - State of the State Address
  • End of January - Fee Agencies Budget Committee
    meetings begin approximately two weeks after
    the State of the State Address
  • First of February - Non-Fee Agency Budget
    Committee meetings can begin approximately
    three weeks after the State of the State Address
  • Mid February - Budget Analysis books should be
    available approximately four weeks after the
    State of the State Address
  • March - Prepare to run Mega Appropriations bill
  • End of April - Prepare to run Omnibus
    Appropriations bill
  • June 30 - Last day of the state fiscal year
