Motion from the board 1996

  • They have in many aspects the same situation as
    the employed.
  • They will also need
  • Support from the union regarding development of
competency, working conditions, working time and
    contact with colleagues."

7
Our proposal
  • Sif EGET together with unions throughout Europe
should investigate the possibility of starting a
project and to try to get it financed from the
    European Commision

8
Our motives
  • Sif EGET strive to create a European project
with the goal to exchange experiences and develop
and spread best practice about what we can do for
    our
  • self employed members.

9
Our aim
  • To identify and remove obstacles for people to
    work as self-employed.
  • Increase the social security for this growing
group on the European labour market.
  • Develop the union's service to those members.
  • When needed propose changes in European and
    national legislation.
  • By doing this the unions will actively
    contribute to increasing self-employment in
Europe and also supporting the entrepreneurship
pillar of the European employment strategies.
