Agriculture
  • Most of the land was owned by the wealthy

Government
  • The U.S got involved .
  • This is when the dictators and left- wing leaders
    take over.
  • They took over the large land masses and stopped
cash crop business and the profits they made.

15
Africa
  • The new governments in the African continent
thought that by quickly industrializing they
    would get more money.
  • The Africans who took over didnt have an
education or enough experience to manage the new
    industries.
  • They made poor decisions and their low quality
products caused a lot of the businesses to fail.

16
Desertification
  • The old agricultural ways were used less
  • Agriculture wasnt as important as the new
    industries that were expanding.
  • The old methods werent good enough , there were
millions of people and not enough crops were
    being produced .
  • This caused misery among the people , political
    rivalries and civil unrest.
