Flap System
  • Description Flap not available message during
    acft powering, rigging required
  • Latest Status
  • New FSCU-4 with improved software and system
logic to solve flap lever rapid actuation and non
volatile memory corruption due to memory override
(channel detects miscompare signal, overrides the
NVM and system rigging information is lost,
    triggering the Flap Fail Msg).
  • 4 FSCU-4 already removed, teardown reports not
    available yet.
  • Note too many system monitors trigger the Flap
Fail message not necessarily related to a FSCU
    fault
  • Related Flap Linear Actuator failures after SB
installation undergoing evaluation with Eaton and
Embraer to determine root cause and corrective
    action. Possible maintenance action (actuators
replacement) may be expected in the near future
    (TBD).

(DeCrane), target is to start in Jan/10
  • Number os shipsets per month still to be
confirmed, supplier production capacity is the
    key factor
  • Retrofit strategy will use a SB to enable proper
tracking of parts and incorporation date
  • Retrofit will be done in the delivery date
    sequence
  • Original warranty period (from acft delivery
    date) will be kept
  • Note Phenom 300 seats today are not certified
for installation on Phenom 100 airplanes

  • Brake Fail plus BCV Fail messages indicate air in
    brake hydraulic lines.
  • BCV reliability issues currently being addressed
    with supplier
  • A new bleeding procedure was developed and proved
    to be efficient.
  • AMM 32-40-00-870 was revised and SL 32-0002 was
released to allow implementation in the field.
  • Field data show no recurrences of problem after
    bleeding system per above references.
  • Production Line target S/N 040 and on

12
Hydraulic Accumulator
  • Description Nitrogen leakage
  • Latest Status
  • Root cause not defined yet. Possible causes
    undergoing engineering study
  • Internal accumulator design problem
  • Improper installation procedure from production
    line (perma-swage connections)
  • Improper handling during servicing (overtorque)
may be damage charging valve o-ring
  • Some evidences of oil contamination by small
particles may damage the valve o-ring and lead to
    leakage
  • Embraer is currently performing several testings
and evaluation of field data (removed units).
  • Double check gates and additional sealing
procedures were implemented in production line.
  • Production Line target TBD
  • Solution availability TBD

13
ADS Heating System
  • Description ADS (static port) heater fail
  • Latest Status
  • A few instances of dual static port swapped
(LH/RH) from production were found, affected acft
    were checked and corrected
  • Several cases of Static Port heater fails were
reported. Investigation has identified a design
problem in internal circuitry (short between
    Mosfet and Housing).
  • Harco investigation has shown that units failed
due to anodization layer below required thickness
(3rd party supplier - TGI replaced by RMM). All
RMM units are measured, not all TGI are affected.
  • Final Solution possible component replacement on
attrition basis, still under Engineering and
    Quality evaluation.
  • P/N will not change, affected batch was already
isolated, replacement of failed units will be
    done on attrition basis
  • Production Line target Not applicable, no P/N
    change
  • Solution availability Already available, units
currently manufactured are free of defects

14
G1000 Aural Warnings
  • Description G1000 alerts volume in cockpit
    considered too loud
  • Latest Status
  • Certification requirement
  • Certification tests were performed on acft S/N
002 which did ot have acoustic liners on cockpit.
  • Engineering is coordinating the required
in-flight testings with Garmin to define if there
    is margin for reduction
  • If feasible, implementation will be evaluated in
upcoming Avionics load phase 4 scheduled for
    2010.
  • Production Line target TBD
  • Solution availability 2010, QT still TBD.

15
De-Icing System
  • Description De-Icing system failures
  • Latest Status
  • Low PRV outlet pressure plus heat exchanger
    effectiveness causing water separator freezing
(air too cold in the line) and umid air just
before the boots reduces the air flow to the
    EFCV.
  • As a result the system understands the EFCV has
failed and the message D-I Wingstb Fail is
displayed. On the ground, the temperature is not
low enough to freeze the water separator, thus
the problem can not be reproduced.
  • New valve P/N with increased pressure setting (20
to 22 psi) currently undergoing certification
    testings.
  • EO 500-002532 (042-on) corrected position of

    improve system performance
  • AMM will be revised to reflect new installation
procedure, a Service Letter is currently being
    issued
  • Production Line target S/N 121 and on (new
    valve)
  • Solution availability pressure switches rotation
    per SL 500-30-001 Sep/09
    valve replacement on attrition
    basis via AIPC 1QT/10

16
CVDR not Active
  • Description CVDR is inoperative and the CB is
    locked open from delivery
  • Latest Status
  • The CVDR is an optional item (not required by FAR
part 23) that was defined by Embraer as a Basic
Standard feature for all Phenom 100 airplanes.
  • The CVDR does not work with the avionics load
    installed for certification (current load).
  • Embraer and Garmin are currently finalizing the
    required certification testings.
  • A Service Bulletin will install the new avionics
load phase 2 which will remove the CB collar and
    activate the CVDR.
  • Production Line target S/N 121 and on
  • Solution availability SB scheduled for 4QT/09

ATR Issue
  • Description Operational questions raised by
    Customers
  • Comments
  • ATR is a FADEC function designed to automatically
provide thrust increase in case of an engine
    failure during takeoff
  • TO-Reserve means ATR ON
  • During normal takeoff (no engine failure and
throttle levers at TOGA) the thrust delivered by
the engines is TO, TO-Reserve is not available.
  • ATR, when selected on, will provide extra power
if throttle levers are in MAX, past TOGA notch,
but this is not in accordance with AFM
    instructions
  • If ATR is selected OFF there will be no extra
    power available
  • The Ice Protection systems are not affected by
    the ATR function
  • ATR selected ON and throttle levers in MAX, bleed
for pressurization will shut off (FCSOV commanded
to close), but the Anti-Ice functionality remains
    unaltered
