Title: Information Systems

1
  • Information Systems
  • and
  • Customer Service

2
History
  • This branch of First National Bank opened
  • in 1995. First National Bank has made great
  • strides to improve their information systems
  • over the past six years. Along with improving
  • their information systems, they have worked
  • very hard to improve their customer service,
  • and to meet their customers needs more promptly
  • and efficiently.

3
Types of information systems used to improve
customer service
  • Automated transfer machine (ATM)
  • Computer program for accounts
  • Automated phone system
  • On-line banking

4
Automated Transfer Machine(ATM)
  • The automated transfer machine (ATM) was the
  • first part of First National Banks information
  • system that was introduced to benefit their
  • customers. The use of the ATM has made life
  • much easier on the First National Bank customers.
  • Now customers can check the balances in their
    savings
  • and checking accounts. They can also transfer
    funds,
  • and take funds out. This has made banking with
  • First National Bank much more convenient for
    their
  • customers.

5
Automated Phone System
  • The second addition to the information system at
  • First National Bank was an automated phone system
  • in 1998. This toll free number allows customers
    to
  • acquire information about their accounts and
    about
  • their credit card payments. This phone system is
  • quick and easy, and allows customers a way to
  • access their information with just the touch of a
  • phone.

6
Computer Program for Accounts
  • In 1999 First National Bank installed a computer
  • program into its system that allows its employees
    to
  • serve their customers more efficiently. This
  • program allows employees to access customer
  • accounts quickly and easily. This has cut down
    on
  • waiting time for customers, and it allows
    employees
  • to help more customers in less time.

7
On-line Banking
  • Finally, in 2000 First National Bank introduced
  • on-line banking to its customers. This is the
    most
  • recent addition to their information system.
    This
  • on-line banking system allows customers to pay
  • their bills, check their account balances, do
    wire
  • transfers, and also put stop payments on lost or
  • stolen checks. This can all be done over the
  • internet on First National Banks web-site which
    is
  • http//fnbwest.com

8
On-line Banking
  • There is even a practice account on the web-site
  • that allows customers to learn and practice how
    to
  • manage their finances. First National Bank has
    had
  • great feedback from their customers on their
    on-line
  • system. Customers love how quick it is, and how
  • everything is explained right there on the
    web-site.
  • The URL for First National Banks web-site is
  • http//fnbwest.com
