  • Study area is located some 65 km in the west of
    D.G.Khan City.
  • Geographically it has Latitude 30 o00 / N and
    Longitude 70?07? E
  • It is a part of Mithawan torrent having elevation
    range of 300 m to 2400 m above sea level

CLIMATE, RAINFALL SOIL
  • Extremely hot dry conditions and arid
    characteristics are the climatic features.
  • Mean annual rainfall ranges from 100 to 150 mm in
    summer, while 100 mm in winter seasons.
  • Soils of the study area varies from loam to sandy
    loam texture with shallow depths.

RULES
  • Construction of diversion structures, repair and
    maintenance undertaken both by Hajbani and Kaloi
    sub-tribes
  • Water uses time is priorily fixed among and
    within the sub-tribes since centuries
  • Water user can expand the area only within his
    own allocated time
  • Privilege of a water user to transfer or not the
    water rights fully or partially with the transfer
    or sale of land
  • Rights of Riparians and agreements on the
    disposal of access or unused water
