Title: D14
1Phase 1 Results
D-14
Step 1 Survey of the Population
A survey of about 20 of the population was
conducted in September 2007 to assess the water
habits of Pignon residents. The data was used as
a basis for designing the water supply and
distribution system.
Population Map 7,500 people
Average 6 gal/p/day
Step 2 Technical Data Collection
Five student trips to Haiti were successful in
collecting the necessary data to complete a
preliminary design for Pignon.
Elevation Data
Supply System and Distribution Network
Step 3 Preliminary Design
The proposed system was designed based on
recommendations from the Haitian National Potable
Water Department, as well as the data collected
from the topographical and socio-economical
surveys.
