  • Generally up to 50,000
  • Available throughout the year
  • Requires for match Match must be
    project-related but may include documented
    volunteer labor or in-kind contributions
  • Can be for facilities improvement, expansion,
    renovation, or new construction

HUD Supportive Housing Program
  • Funding available for Transitional Housing,
    Permanent Supportive Housing, Supportive
    Services but NOT Shelter or Homeless Prevention
  • Funding Available for HMIS implementation
  • BONUS for Permanent Supportive Housing

  • Technical Assistance Available for CoCs seeking
    to strengthen submissions

Statewide CoC Funding Process
  • Call for Projects (for BOS areas) will be issued
    in early 2004
  • Applications generally due about 6 weeks prior to
    HUD/SHP deadline
  • Renewals limited to 1 year

Section 8 Project-Based RFP Permanent
Supportive Housing
  • RFP will be issued shortly
  • CSH will coordinate implementation
  • 5 BOS CoCs will be selected through competitive
    process
  • 10 project-based vouchers 30,000/year for .50
    FTE services coordination allocated to each
    successful applicant community
  • Must be Permanent Supportive Housing (extra
    points for directing portion of units to
    chronically homeless populations)
  • Joint application required from Housing Owner
    Agency CoC

Section 8 Family Self-Sufficiency
  • Available to ALL Section 8 HCV households
  • Allows household to build up funds in escrow for
    personal use
  • Participants enter into 5 year agreement
  • Personal action plan employment budget
    counseling all required
  • Work through local Section 8 agent to access
    program and benefits
  • Section 8 seeking partnership with local s CoC
    to assist consumers in FSS

    CoCs closer together
