2AMANDA online data processing Goals
- Reduction of raw data to rates which can be
transmitted by TDRSS satellite link. - Fast availability of data.
- Crucial for detector monitoring.
- Convenient for muon and TWR data
Approximate data rates
Raw µ-DAQ 6 GB/day
Raw TWR 60 GB/day
Monitoring 0.01 GB/day
HE stream 1 GB/day
L1 filtered 0.6 GB/day

4AMANDA online data processing Changes 2003/2004
- Datahandler
- New ODP administration tool utilizing MySQL DB
PBS batch system - Monitoring
- Omscanner (Root tree generator for bad
run/file/OM selection) introduced. - TWR / µ-data merging
- Cut is now on the number of WFs ( was NHits ) for
HE sample. - Datahandler is used to find corresponding files.
- ? Dramatically reduced CPU / Disk / Networking
resources. -
- L1 Filtering
- Software change ofip ? sieglinde Redesign of
L1 filter steps. - Reduced number of necessary calibration constants
(only T0, Amps). - ? Higher flexibility, speed and more chances to
have filtering running at the beginning of winter

9AMANDA online data processing Summary
- L1 data sample is now produced at pole and ready
to be used for analysis - Maintenance by the WOs (hopefully) significantly
reduced - TWR merging optimized
- new L1 f2k file is compatible to L1 files
currently produced in the Zeuthen re-filtering
2000-2003 - Minimization of calibration necessary for L1, so
filtering can start right after the winter.
