Ancient Bakery House

• The Bakhoes was built in 1346. In 1993 the
  Bakhoes was renovated with the help of
  volunteers. These days baking is done the old
  fastioned way.
• The pantry was made deeper and redeconated.
  Outside a small patio was constructed from rocks
  found in the riven.
• The Bakhoes is sitavated in the vicinity of
  Wieler. It has an old look and a circular roof.
  They still make tart in theBakhoesespecially in
  the summer.

Het volks museum asselt

• The objects end up mainly in the middle of
  Limburg. They were picked up often personally by
  the koster by bicycle. In the museum himself lie
  things also many from the middle ages. Objects
  such as axes and javelin points from stones era,
  mammoet cogs, shell animals from the red ochre
  time, substance stamps and pictures can see you
  there.

the watermill

• The watermill is no longer there. The only
  building remaining is the house and is, located
  near a street called The Leucker.
• Upto 1944 the watermill was still in use however,
  in the last year of the war it was destroyed by
  handgranates. After the war the watermill was
  rebuild as 4 apartments.
• The watermill was build in 1786. at the time of
  the restoration both wheels could have be
  repaired at the turn of the last century. The
  watermill orginally had 2 wheels, one for grain
  and the other for oil.

Nepomuk
Joannes Nepomuk was born about 1340 in Pomuk in
the Czech Republic. He became a priest. He took
the queens confession. The priest refused to
tell the king what she confessed to him.
Therefore he was punished by the king and was
thrown from the bridge with his hands and feet
bound up. For centuries on end, pilgrims come to
the history, every wish will be fulfilled by
touching the statue. In the village of Swalmen
there is also a statue of Nepomuk on the bridge
over the river Swalm.

There its a lot of beautiful old houses and farms
in the municipality Swalmen. Especially much in

Zuidewijk Spick

• A house with a big corn attic on the first
  deepening is generally been called a nail or in
  de dialect of the province Limburg Spieker
  Spick
• The word spieker has been called from the old
  Roman word Spicarium. That means corn
  warehouse. That is also the reason that this
  Castle farm is called so
• The main building with the chapel is build in de
  17th century. The beautiful building is certainly
  renovated.

Het zwembad

• Swimingpool the bosberg is situated in the middle
  of the forest. It is an openair swimming pool..
• Two years ago they wanted to close the swimming
  pool but is now still open because of the work of
  many volunteers.

( The Nature)
The Groene woud is part of a larger nature park
called The Swalmdal and looked after by the
dutch national forestrycommission. People that
would like to walk, sit under a tree alond the
water edge or go on the bike are more then
welcome to visit.
