Mentoring is About Relationships
  • A relationship which helps a mentoree reach
    his/her God-given potential.
  • Mentoring is a relational experience in which one
    person empowers another by sharing God-given
    resources.
  • Mentoring is a relational process that transfers
    experience that facilitates empowerment.
  • Mentoring moves the mentoree from learning by
    mistakes to learning by example.

Launching a Mentoring RelationshipFor the Mentor
  • 1. Pray.
  • 2. Ask two simple questions
  • What are your priorities?
  • How can I help you?
  • 3. Begin to meet.

For the One Seeking a Mentor
  • Pray. Ask God to lead you to the person that is
    willing to mentor you.
  • Formally or informally speak to them about the
    mentoring process.
  • Meet and ask for counsel about your priorities.
  • 4. Ask God to confirm the relationship or look
    for another mentor.
