Executive Summary Project Description The CEM
Science Building and College Center Addition and
Renovations includes a 15,000 square foot
addition and major renovations and upgrades to
both buildings. The addition is attached to the
east side of the existing College Center
building. This additional space along with
renovated space within the building will become
the new location for the Learning Resource
Center, currently housed in the CEM Science
Building. Renovations in the CEM Science
Building include new instructional laboratories
for Chemistry, Biology and Physical Science.
Other Math and Science lecture spaces are also
upgraded with the addition of instructor office
space. Renovations to both buildings include
significant upgrades to the current Mechanical
and Electrical systems. Both roof systems will
be replaced along with minor site work to support
the new addition.
Progress to Date College Center Addition The
ceiling in the open seating has been painted.
Painting continues throughout the addition and
existing areas. Ceiling grids continue to be
installed throughout. Sidewalks have been
demolished and the new layout is ready for
concrete placement. College Center Renovations
New ceramic tile installation continues in the
bathrooms. Fire protection installation
continues. The final roof curb has been
reinforced and the last RTU will be installed
this month. The cafeteria is nearing completion.
The new operable partition has been installed.
Ceiling grid continues in throughout. CEM
Building Renovations The first electrical
shutdown has been completed. Paint touch ups
have started on 4th floor. Casework installation
is complete. Ceiling grid is nearing completion.
Interior lighting continues to be installed
throughout. Final mechanical devices and
fixtures are being installed.

Project Schedule Summary CEM Building
Renovations Mechanical and Electrical work
continues throughout the CEM. Paint touch ups
began on 4th floor. Ceiling grid installation
continues and is nearing completion. Interior
lighting installation continues. Mechanical work
continues within mechanical room and at
RTUs. Casework installation is nearing
completion. Electrical separation and primary
power work continues. Pipe insulation continues
throughout, College Center Addition and
Renovations New ceramic tile was installed in
B122 and B123. Ceiling grid installation
continues in the College Center Electrical
components continue to be installed within the
addition. Sidewalks have been laid out and
prepared for concrete placement. Painting
continues throughout the College Center.
Contractor Construction Progress Meetings are
currently scheduled for 1000AM on the 2nd and
4th Thursdays of each Month. The Executive
Overview Committee Meetings are currently
scheduled for 230PM on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays
of each Month.

Project Status Report Attachments Current Status
Review The Architectural and Engineering design
is complete. Shop drawings and Request for
Information Forms are currently being submitted
to the A/E for review and approval. All items
are on schedule. Construction progress is
identified on attached construction schedule as
well as following manpower chart. There has been
no safety issues on the project. Contractors
have submitted required safety manuals and MSDS.
These items are located within the College Center
Construction Office.
There are currently no critical issues impacting
the construction project.
