Awards for All
  • Grants of between 300 and 10,000 for people to
    take part in art, sport, heritage and community
    activities, and projects that promote education,
    the environment and health in the local community
  • Project should meet at least one of the aims

BBC Children in Need
  • Projects working with children young people
    affected by
  • Illness, distress, abuse or neglect
  • Disability
  • Behavioural or psychological impairment
  • Living in poverty or situations of deprivation
  • No upper limit of amount applied for
  • Next round of funding to open in October for
    November 30th deadline (summer schemes need to be
    submitted in this round)

Big Lottery Fund
  • Community Spaces

Big Lottery Fund
  • Reaching Communities
  • Grants of between 10,000 - 500,000 - No more
    than 50,000 capital costs can be included.
  • Reaching Communities, is a demand led England
    wide programme that will provide funding to help
    improve local communities and the lives of people
    most in need.
  • Projects must meet at least one of the following
    outcomes
  • People having better chances in life, with better
    access to training and development to improve
  • their life skills.
  • Stronger communities, with more active citizens
    working together to tackle their problems.
  • Improved rural and urban environments, which
    communities are better able to access and enjoy.
  • Healthier and more active people and communities.
  • Statutory bodies including schools can apply

Co-op Community Fund
  • Small grants under 5,000
  • There are three charitable purposes covered by
    the Community Fund.
  • Relieving poverty this includes any project
    that aims to improve conditions for those less
    fortunate, such as helping the residents of a
    particular housing estate or helping people who
    are suffering any form of ill health.
  • Improving education this includes any project
    that aims to provide education in the community,
    such as nurseries, youth centres and so on.
  • Other purposes benefiting the community this
    includes projects that benefit the wider
    community, such as environmental projects,
    protecting heritage sites or promoting racial
    harmony.

  • In order for an application to be successful it

Faiths in Action
  • Faiths in Action is a 4 million grants programme
    open to faith, inter faith, voluntary and
    community sector organisations at national,
    regional and local levels in England.
  • Grants of up to 12,000 are now available in
    round one, to be spent over two years from April
    2009 to the end of March 2011 Round One
    deadline is 1st November 2008
  • The fund has four key priorities derived from the
    Governments framework Face to Face and Side by
    Side A framework for partnership in our multi
    faith society
  • A. Developing the confidence and skills to
    bridge and link
  • B. Supporting shared spaces for interaction and
    social action
  • C. Developing structures and processes which
    support dialogue and social action
  • D. Improving opportunities for learning which

Football Foundation
  • Facilities grants
  • Under 20,000
  • Over 20,000 up to 1 million
  • Community grants
  • Under 9,000
  • Over 9,000 - The Football Foundation is not
    accepting any new applications to the Community
    Scheme (grants of 9,000 - 250,000) until
    further notice.
  • Goalpost Safety Scheme
  • An individual grant cannot exceed 50 of the cost
    of a pair of goals up to a ceiling of 3,000. An
    applicant (such as a local authority) may apply
    for up to a maximum of 10 grants.

Foundation for Sports the Arts
  • Support to a wide range of activities where there
    is clearly beneficial impact across the
    community. Their particular goal at this time is
    to encourage active participation by young
    people.
  • They look for evidence of energetic fund raising
    and the involvement and commitment of local
    people in trying to help themselves, where an
    award of up to 40,000 can make the difference
    between success and failure.
  • The Foundation will cease funding activities at
    the end of March 2009

Grassroots Grants
  • 1.24 million will be made available until March
    2011 as grants of up to 5,000 for small groups
    in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
  • VAL is running the Small Grants Programme.
    Funding totalling 1,244,738 is available to
    small voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups
    across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
    Each area has a pre-determined budget. This
    programme will run from Autumn/Winter 2008 until
    31st March 2011.
  • VCS Groups can apply for funding for as many
    times as needed to a maximum of 5000 in total
    over 3 years.
  • The aim of the Small Grants Programme is to
    respond to the diverse needs of communities.
    Grassroots Grants are a key element of the
    Government Strategy for building stronger and
    more active communities.

Healthy Hearts Grants
  • Heart Research UK Healthy Heart Grants support
    innovative projects designed to promote heart
    health and to prevent or reduce the risks of
    heart disease in specific groups or communities. 
  • Grants of up to 10,000 are available to
    community groups, voluntary organisations and
    researchers who are spreading the healthy heart
    message.
  • Applications are only accepted during January and
    February for the May round of grants and July and
    August for grants awarded in November, each
    year.  Applications received at any other time of
    year will be returned.

Kellogg's Active Living Fund
  • The fund will give small grants to fund projects
    and activities that directly lead to people
    taking part in sustained physical activity. The
    aim of the fund is to help remove the barriers
    which stop people being active.
  • Applications can be considered for projects
    engaging with young people up to 25 years of age.
    However priority will be given to applications
    requesting support for family units children
    and adults undertaking physical activity
    together.

Sportsmatch
  • Match sponsorship which has been given to an
    eligible sports body by a company, Trust or
    private individual to fund projects to encourage
    new participation at grassroots level.
  • The maximum amount of sponsorship monies they
    will match is 50,000 and the minimum is 1,000.

Torch Trophy Trust
  • The aim of the Bursaries is to help volunteers to
    improve their skills as coaches or officials but
    are unable to do so without funding. The
    Bursaries provide financial support for those
    wishing to undertake training.
  • A Torch Trophy Trust Bursary is awarded to enable
    individuals or groups to enhance their knowledge
    in order to assist their club, organisation or
    community to develop their chosen sport, by
  • Providing funding for volunteers.
  • Encouraging and helping voluntary workers at
    club level. Making grants of up to 1000
    available to individuals or groups. Developing
    talent, increasing knowledge and improving
    skills. Supporting grass roots sport and
    recreation.
