  infrastructure development of the region

• For example, granting the town the status of a
  tourist zone gave rise to a new wave of
  cooperation between local authorities and
  different departments of the academy, mostly the
  Botanical garden.

Botanical garden

• Was laid down in 1867 on the territory of 100 ha
  and is the oldest in the Republic of Belarus.
• Nowadays it occupies the territory of 28 ha.,
• possesses a collection of about 1000 species of
  ornamental plants, herbs, trees, flowers,
  medicinal plants.
• Its activities are mainly concentrated on the
  reproduction of valuable coniferous tree
  varieties, the development of the novelist
  propagation techniques.
