Parody

• a comical piece of writing that mocks the
  characteristics of a specific literary form. By
  exaggerating or humorously imitating the ideas,
  language, tone or action in a work of literature,
  a parody calls attention to the ridiculous
  qualities of its subject. Don Quixote ridicules
  the idea of the knight in shining armor.

Satire

• A literary mode based on criticism of people and
  society through ridicule. Ridicule, irony,
  exaggeration, and several other techniques are
  almost always present. The satirist's goal is to
  point out the hypocrisy of his target in the hope
  that either the target or the audience will
  return to a real following of the code. Many of
  the techniques of satire are devices of
  comparison, to show the similarity or contrast
  between two things.

• Epic- a long narrative or narrative poem about
  the deeds of heroes (The Odyssey)
• Epic Hero- the brave virtuous main character who
  proves his heroism on a long dangerous journey
  (Odysseus)similar to the tragic hero
