• The Environmental Core Policy is the foundation

• the EMS. The basics of the policy are

• Comply with laws and regulations
• Practice sustainable forestry
• Reduce pollution
• Conserve natural resources through recycling
• and waste reduction
• Continually improve our environmental performance

• Failure to comply with this core policy could
  result in disciplinary action
• including termination of employment.

• The EMS is a structured way to manage our impacts
  on the environment

  contractors, and suppliers need to understand and
  implement their EMS responsibilities

• The EMS relies on operational control procedures

• control the significant environmental aspects

• Operational control procedures are used to manage
  our day-to-day activities to control
  environmental impacts.

• Employees, contractors and suppliers need to
  understand and implement relevant operational
  control procedures.

• Examples of operational control procedures
  include Harvesting, Road Construction,
  Regeneration, etc..

Audit

• The EMS includes requirements for auditing
  Western Timberlands performance at meeting the
  requirements of the EMS

• The audit measures conformity to
• Weyerhaeuser Sustainable Forestry Standard,
  the Sustainable
• Forestry Initiative, and the ISO 14001
  standard
