3Hey there! Im Drip! I just fell to the
ground with millions of my brothers and sisters.
Now I will begin my journey to the Atlantic
Ocean. You should come with me!
We can start right here, in the Blue Ridge
Mountains!
4The Mountain Region is in the northern part of
Georgia.
5My job in this region is to provide water to all
types of different plants and animals.
Some of the animals include the Black Bear,
and the Great Horned Owl.
the Whitetail Deer,
the Red Fox,
6This is also where you will find Atlanta, our
state capital.
Our next stop is the Piedmont Region.
You live here, in Gwinnett County.
7Animals in this region include the Honeybee,
and our state bird, the Brown Thrasher.
the Copperhead Snake,
8Both, the Piedmont and the Mountain Regions have
similar plant life.
and the Sensitive Fern.
These include the Georgia Pine,
the Dogwood Tree,
the Maple Tree,
9Now we will travel to the southern part of the
state to the Coastal Plain Region.
10Georgias coast has sandy soil and many different
plants and animals!
Animals include the Fiddler Crab
Plants include the Live Oak
and Spanish Moss.
and the Blue Heron.
11Within the Coastal Plain Region is the Swamp and
Marsh Region.
The most famous swamp in Georgia is the
Okefenokee Swamp.
12and Water Lilies.
like Alligators,
River Otters,
Damselflies,
Cypress Trees,
The swamp has many interesting plants and animals
that are not found in other habitats
13Our last stop is in the Atlantic Ocean.
14I made it! The Atlantic Ocean is filled with
amazing creatures that can be found nowhere else
in Georgia!
and our state marine mammal, the beautiful Right
Whale.
These include the Loggerhead Sea Turtle,
the Horseshoe Crab,
15Wow, Ive traveled from the Mountain Region
to the Piedmont Region
and ended my journey in the Atlantic Ocean.
