Speedboard Assembly Services Ltd. is a well-established CEM offering the full range of services expected from todays modern manufacturing partners. Privately owned, with around 60 staff, our ISO 90012000 approved facility, which is based conveniently just off the M4 on the outskirts of Windsor, makes us an ideal manufacturing partner for many OEMs in the UK. We have a diverse range of customers from various markets, including industrial, safety, medical, broadcast and aerospace. Each customer is different and receives a tailored service to meet their individual needs. Some customers use a single service such as surface mount while others use them all for a total turnkey solution. Our internal systems and procedures help to drive continuous improvement for our customers, staff and stakeholders. Our Six Sigma Black Belt, IPC trainer and Production Engineers are the driving force for delivering these improvements. Engineering Turnkey and System Manufacture
Engineering at Speedboard is key to our success. Our experienced team of engineers not only manage our equipment needs and planned maintenance, but also manage the introduction of new projects, (NPI), creating all the necessary programmes and job specific work instructions. We see ourselves as being the manufacturing department of an OEM. In an ever changing market, more and more OEMs are concentrating their efforts on design and marketing, thus outsourcing complete system builds to companies like Speedboard. With many years experience in this area we know what is required, and deliver complete units on time to demanding yet flexible schedules.
Procurement Lead Free Manufacture
Speedboard are happy to offer specific procurement solutions to each of our customers based on their individual needs. These include full turnkey purchasing, stock control of free issue parts, mix and match of bought and free issue, and where appropriate Kanban kitting via dedicated kitting partners. With the introduction of Lead Free manufacturing, Speedboard continues to stay up to date with the latest requirements and have invested in new equipment and processes to be able to offer our full range of services in Leaded and Lead Free formats.
Surface Mount Technology ICT and Functional Test
Capacity and capability are not a concern at Speedboard. With 14 pick and place machines, able to place from 0201 to 55x55mm uBGAs it clear to see why. Each of our Siemens SiPlace lines are supported with Dek 265 screen printers, handling equipment and Omni-flow reflow ovens. A cost effective test strategy is an essential part of the design and manufacturing process. Having an experienced team of Test Engineers and Technicians, along with Teradyne ICT and various proprietary test equipment, means that we can offer a full range of test services as determined by the individual needs of each customers product.
Through Hole Technology Automatic Optical and X-Ray Inspection
Complimenting our extensive SMT facility, we also operate a well equipped and flexible through hole department. We have two wave soldering lines supporting both Leaded and Lead Free processes, 4 light guided crop and clinch machines, and an aqueous Kerry wash system. As technology moves forward it is essential that your manufacturer has the technical expertise and equipment to ensure process control and outstanding delivered quality. At Speedboard we achieve this with multiple Diagnosys AOI machines, an X-Tek real time X-Ray system, and a live video system for inspecting under BGAs.
Cable Technology Warehousing and Delivery Options
Dedicated staff and cable manufacturing unit backed up with a range of specialist equipment enables us to build simple cables through to complex looms and specialist connectors, all to IPC620 standards. Finally it is just as important to have flexible arrangements for delivery. We offer standard overnight deliveries along with dedicated customer deliveries utilising returnable packaging. In addition, and to compliment all of the above, we offer, warehousing, Kanban and ship to line stock arrangements.
