Brief Description of the Bureau of Consular
Affairs

• Passports CA is responsible for issuing
  passports to U.S. citizens. There are twenty
  three Passport Agencies and four Passport Centers
  throughout the U.S.
• Citizen Support Advises and supports US citizens
  and our embassies and consulates around the world
  in such matters as Deaths, Arrests, Robberies,
  Citizenship and nationality, Federal benefits,
  Notarization of documents, International parental
  child abduction.
