5Institutional Audit Committee
- An Institutional Audit Committee has the
following functions - to evaluate and analyse institutional audit
reports - to determine the state of academic health of
institutions of higher education - to recommend the awarding of, or otherwise, an
institutional self accreditation status and - to make recommendations for the maintenance,
suspension or revocation of self-accreditation
status.

6The Equivalency Committee
- Specialize for those originating from outside of
Malaysia, whose level in the MQF is unclear and
needs to be determined. - The Equivalency Committee has the following
functions - to receive and analyse equivalency assessment
reports of programme and qualification and - to make decision on the equivalency of
qualifications for their placement in the level
of qualifications in the MQF.

of study. The members of the committees come from
the academe, professional bodies and industry - The Standards Committees have the following
functions - to develop and review the guidelines, standards
and criteria for programme accreditation and
institutional audit - to develop and review standards for specific

- (eligibility criteria), HEP submits application,

Certification is revocable - Effect exempted from programme accreditation.
Apply to register programmes as accredited. - External check Subject to institutional audit
once every 5 years.

21Approval of Programmes by MOHE-steps
- An established HEP applies to MQA for provisional
accreditation to obtain the certificate of
minimum quality requirement (CMQR) - The HEP submits CMQR to MOHE to support
programme approval - Once the HEP obtains formal approval and the
programme commences, MQA will issue Provisional
Accreditation certificate.
