How do I apply for a Background Check?
Go to https//hazprints.tsa.dhs.gov or call
877-429-7746 to pre-register and pay for a
background check. Then go to a Massachusetts site
to be fingerprinted.

The background check should be done first. Once
you pass the check, you can visit a RMV branch to
take the HazMat knowledge exam and renew your
license.

No. The RMV does not transfer HazMat Endorsements
from out-of-state. You need to take and pass the
HazMat exam to retain the Endorsement.
