Time to make new friends and to learn how to play
and share together. We will be encouraging the
children to care for each other, to develop their
independence and confidence and to help to make
our Nursery a happy place for all. We will all
be enjoying celebrating Chinese New Year
together. Ask your child who they like playing
with at Nursery. How about inviting someone over
to play?
Lars the Polar Bear and Penguin Small are just
two of the story characters who we will be
meeting as we explore the world of stories
together! We will be encouraging the children to
talk about their discoveries and to listen
carefully as others share their experiences. Why
dont you encourage your child to write their own
shopping list!

Lacing, tracing, cutting, painting, writing,
drawing, modelling lots of exciting
opportunities and activities on offer to help
develop strong hands!
Explore moving in different ways as we
stretch, climb, balance, run and jump in our
Nursery garden and in P.E. Why not set up a
making box at home and have fun with scissors and
paper!
What shall I make at the making table today?
Which materials shall I use?
Shall I experiment with
mixing paints or printing with my hands? Shall I
build a spaceship outside and explore the stars?
Be brave! See where your imaginations can take
you at home!

Which shapes do I need to help me to make a
snowman picture? What size do they need to be?
How many do I need? Have fun in Nursery playing
games and solving problems with numbers and
shapes. Enjoy learning counting rhymes and
songs. The world is full of numbers. How many
can your child spot on the way to school?

detective and experiment with ice! Enjoy the
snow and the outside world with your child.
