DAP Preschool Activity
  • Using the template provided, describe and explain
    an activity for a Preschool age child (ages 3-5
    years).
  • The activity must consider Developmentally
    Appropriate Practice.
  • Use your textbook and lecture notes to help you
    complete the activity.

A Practice Activity
  • Name of Activity
  • NO - COOK PLAYDOUGH
  • Printed from COOKS.COM
  • Materials needed
  • ?   1 c. water?   3 c. flour?   1 1/2 c.
    salt?   1/4 c. oil?   Food coloring
  • Combine ingredients in bowl and mix. Add more
    flour if mixture is too sticky. Store in a
    plastic zip-lock bag.
  • Recipe cards with ingredient picture and
    measurement for children to use.
  • Tools for play- rolling pins, cookie cutters,
    popsicle sticks, etc.

A Practice Activity
  • Describe Activity
  • Children will be making play dough in small
    groups. Pictures of the ingredients with
    measurements are provided. With the teacher
    leading the group, follow the recipe provided
    referring to the cards. Children should measure
    and combine ingredients as much as possible. Take
    turns and describe the process as you go. After
    making the play dough, divide the dough equally
    amongst the children to use. Provide tools such
    as rolling pins, cookie cutters, popsicle sticks,
    etc. to use in the dough.
