These are triploblastic,bilaterally symetrical,
metamerically segmented animals
Body is covered by a thick chitinous cuticle
forming an exoskeleton.
Body segments have jointed legs.
Distinct cephalization.
The Head has a pair of compound eyes. Each
compound eye is made up of Several sub-units
called Ommatidia
