What is a Hazard
  • An existing (or potential) condition or
  • work practice that, by itself or in
  • combination with other conditions,
  • could cause injury, illness, or death to
  • workers.

Purpose of a Hazard Assessment
  • To protect the eyes, face, head, body, arms,
    hands, legs, feet, or whole body from hazards
    caused by environmental conditions, biological,
    physical objects/conditions, use of chemicals, or
    hazardous energies such as electrical, physical,
    mechanical, or radiological.
