• Australias future may depend on people getting
  used to using less water.
• The water that comes out when we turn the tap
  was once rainwater. Rainwater is collected in
  large dams, from large rivers, or in some areas
  gathers deep under the ground and is pumped to
  the surface. When there is not enough rainfall,
  the dams start to empty and the rivers and ground
  water dry up.
• Australia is one of the driest places in the
  world. Even though some parts of the country
  receive enough rain much of the time, Australia
  has suffered many disastrous droughts.
• With the population growing and people using
  more water than they did in the past, we are
  finding it harder to get enough water to meet our
  needs.
• People have become used to using as much water
  as they want. Billions of liters of water are
  used to water lawns, wash cars and hose
  driveways. As a result, dam levels all over
  Australia are very low. Many dams supplying our
  cities are less than half full, and have been
  that way for several years. If we dont do
  something to reduce the amount of water we use,
  we might run out all together!
• Everybody should help to save water. Dont be
  wet. Dont be a water wally! Do your bit!
