When to use Nominative Case?
  • 1. When the pronoun is used as the SUBJECT OF THE
    SENTENCE!!!
  • 2. When the pronoun is used as the PREDICATE
    NOMINATIVE!!!
  • A predicate nominative is the noun or pronoun
    that follows a linking verb (am, is, are, was,
    were, etc.)

  • 1. When the pronoun is used as the DIRECT OBJECT
    OF THE SENTENCE!!!
  • 2. When the pronoun is used as the INDIRECT
    OBJECT OF THE SENTENCE!!!
  • 3. When the pronoun is used as the OBJECT OF THE
    PREPOSITION!!!

  • 1. Find the ACTION VERB!!!
  • 2. Ask, What or Whom after the action verb!!

  • 1. Find the ACTION VERB!!!
  • 2. Find the DIRECT OBJECT!!!
  • 3. Ask, To/for whom after the direct object!
  • 4. Ask, To /for what after the direct object!!
  • The direct or indirect object will NOT be
    found in a prepositional phrase!!!
