Introduction

• The Deanship of Graduate Studies, formerly called
  College of Graduate Studies, was established in
  1972.
• It was the first Graduate College in Saudi Arabia
  and in Gulf States.
• The University was the first institution in Saudi
  Arabia to introduce Ph.D. programs in engineering
  in 1984.
