  • This is my seventh year at Hillsboro High School.
  • I am the French Club Sponsor and was the Freshman
    Class Sponsor in the past.

Course Description
  • Introduction into the French language
  • Learn basics of speaking, reading, and writing
    French
  • Learn about culture of French speaking countries
  • Year long class

Instructional Philosophy
  • Students will acquire and develop the
    fundamentals of oral and written communication.
  • Students will learn respect for humanity and
    dignity of other cultures and civilizations.
  • Students become more functional members in a
    world-oriented society.
  • Students become more tolerant, sensitive, and
    knowledgeable people who understand linguistic
    and cultural diversity.

Tardy Policy
  • One free tardy per semester (Warning)
  • Eighth hour for every other tardy
  • (Students must be in their seat when the bell
    rings)

Absent Work
  • Can be found on the website under homework.
  • Label make-up work absent and the date absent
  • You have three days to make up missed work

Sign Out
  • Please sign the sign-out sheet when you exit and
    enter the classroom with name, destination, time
    out, and time in. (This is for your safety.)

Food and Drinks
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the school
    except the commons.
  • Water is allowed.

Other
  • Reading non-class materials, writing and passing
    notes, and doing other homework are NOT allowed
    in class unless time is given to work on French
    homework and it is completed.
  • Show completed homework to teacher before
    engaging in outside activities.
  • 1st offense-Warning and outside activity taken
    away until the same hour the next school day.
  • 2nd offense-Outside activity taken away and
    eighth hour.
  • 3rd offense-Outside activity taken away and two
    eighth hours.

  • Paper (Youll need a lot)
  • 2 Binder and Dividers
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Completed Homework
  • French dictionary is strongly advised but not
    required.

  • Is available, but must be requested in advance.
  • There is no official tutoring available for this
    class, but I am willing to help.
