Blood Pressure

• Systolic pressure
• Ventricles contract

Heart Contraction

• Sinoartrial (SA) node
• Pace maker of heart
• Independent of CNS
• Electrical trigger that causes muscle fibers in
  atria to contract
• Atrioventricular (AV) node
• Delays signal so ventricles can fill
• Transmits to ventricles
• Purkinje fiber
• Carry depolarization waves to right and left
  ventricle causing their contraction
• Signal travels from bottom to top

• ECG A recording of the electrical activity of
  the heart, as a measured through electrodes in
  the skin.
• Often used to detect abnormal heart functioning.
