About Me
  • My name is Kelsey Blum
  • My favorite hobby is exercising with friends and
    playing with my baby girls.
  • B.A. from UCLA in Psychology and Education.
  • Masters Degree in Education and Bilingual
    Teaching Credential from UCLA
  • I have been teaching since 2004
  • I have worked at 2 other schools, 99th Street
    Elementary in LAUSD and Kennedy Elementary
  • Taught 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grades

  • Writing- narratives, opinion writing, and
    informational writing of at 5 paragraphs

  • Always show work!
  • Topic/Chapter tests every couple weeks to
    monitor progress

Housekeeping
  • Materials Needed, http//mrsblum.weebly.com
  • Come to school with all materials, no phone calls
    home unless it is an emergency.
  • Office is not responsible to deliver your late
    arriving materials.
  • No Electronic devices at school
  • Principal will collect and call the parents
  • Friday Spirit days

Healthy Snacks
  • Students need to have healthy snacks every day in
    order to learn and be alert!
  • - granola bars
  • - fruit
  • - cheese and crackers
  • - NO Soda, candy, chips or cheetos, fruit roll
    ups

Before and After School
  • Students can not arrive at school before 745 am
  • (No Playing in the morning as it is not a
    recess period)
  • Remind children to walk all the way to their
    classroom line.

  • Progress Reports for Gradepro
  • Behavior/homework reports on a daily basis if you
    login with information sent home about Classroom
    Dojo
  • Trimester Progress Report
  • September 2- November 14
  • November 17- March 6
  • March 9- June 17 (Last Day of School)

Discipline Policy
  • We will be using the ADOPT standards in order to
    decrease behaviors that inhibit learning
  • -A Not Paying Attention
  • -D Not Following Directions
  • -O Being Off Task
  • -P Playing Around
  • -T Talking
  • Earn classroom based on the number of ADOPT
    letters recorded on DOJO
  • Letters go against their total earned on
    Fridays, it could be 15 each week
  • Three Strikes Rule for Trimester Incentives
  • All have signed Blue Disc/HW policy last week

Positive Behaviors
  • Students earn for complete homework
  • Earn for classroom jobs well-done
  • Earn for any other miscellaneous items that are
    positive
  • Can use the to purchase rewards
  • (treasure box, free time coupons, homework
    coupons, etc.)

  • Daily Homework- Monday thru Thursday nights
  • -Language Arts Practice
  • -Math Practice
  • -Social Studies/Science
  • -Weekly Reading Log due Fridays
  • Grading scale
  • - E, S, I, N
  • - Homework Alert given if assignment is missing
    or incomplete
  • - Pay 5 for each missing assignment
  • - If still incomplete the next day, student has
    detention
